Lectures on Monergistic Regeneration

The Reformation Theology blog has posted two free lectures on Monergistic Regeneration by Dr. Art Azurdia III.

I've almost jumped up and ran around the room shouting like Billy Sunday several times during the first lecture!

Soli Deo Gloria!

Love the absolutely EXEGETICAL points he had to make, especially this one from Romans 8:28. It says, (in the ESV)

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."

He showed that the grammar there really forces the conclusion that one group is being identified by two clauses. They

1. Love God
and
2. Are the called

Who loves God? The called.
Who is called? Those who love God.

This is the same group of people. There isn't any room in the original language for the construction of a larger group of the "called," out of which only a small portion goes on to love God.

These, and these only, go on to be glorified (Romans 8:30.) Further they are called because they are predestined.

I wasn't quite dancing like Billy Sunday, though. More like Donny Chong.

Scribe,

LOL! My actual dance moves look more like those of Forrest Gump, therefore, the Charismatics wouldn't accept me. Seeing as though Southern Baptists don't actually dance, no body has to know about mt little secret!

Just finished both lectures. Wow. I'm dancing a little more now, which can also resemble the Bill Cosby, slow-mo deal.
